Springtime: Urban Herb Foraging & Herb Whiskey

A typical, old Japanese neighborhood, Kitakagaya has a few urban farms, and other various nooks and crannies hiding all sorts of herbs and edible wild plants (also known as ‘weeds’ to some). For our urban herb foraging event, Suhee prepared a ‘herb map’ of the neighborhood, and slowly guided our participants on a walk to discover these plants, and how we can use them.

Nick Reeves Award for Arts and Environment

We’ve just been notified that The Branch has received a special commendation from the 2018 Nick Reeves Award for Arts and the Environment!

This award is given annually in recognition of an outstanding contribution in the field of environmental arts, and administered by the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) and the Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World (CCANW). Two organizations received commendations in addition to the award winner.
